Sustainability at the ZVB

As a company, we act according to sustainable principles in many areas as a matter of course and live them every day. With our ZVB sustainability program, we make our existing commitment visible and make a concrete and conscious effort in the three dimensions of environment, social and economy. We focus on topics where we can make a real difference.

• Environment: We reduce CO2 Emissions, promote ecological measures and optimize our use of resources.
• Social: We create attractive working conditions, are committed to happy and healthy employees and promote their development.
• Economy: We make mobility possible for everyone and use the tax franc responsibly. We are competitive and open to new ideas.

The 2030 Agenda is the global reference framework for sustainable development. It was adopted by all UN member states in 2015 with the ambition of achieving the goals together by 2030. It consists of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which cover the broad spectrum of sustainable development issues - from poverty reduction and climate protection to responsible business practices. Switzerland is also called upon to implement these goals at national level.

With our ZVB sustainability program, we are contributing to several of these goals. By offering attractive apprenticeships in various professions and training adults to become bus drivers, we are committed to high-quality education and lifelong learning for all. We are also investing in sustainable infrastructure with the construction of our new main base. The ongoing transition to CO2-neutral bus services supports sustainable mobility and better air quality in our cities and communities as well as the development of alternative drive technologies.
